addition to the hunting opportunities at the Morani River Ranch, there
are many other activities for our guests to participate in.
One of our guest’s favorite “activities” is simply
relaxing. Our goal at the Morani River Ranch is for our guests to
be able to have the freedom to set their own schedule and their own
activities. We attempt to only book one group on the ranch at a time.
When you are a guest on the ranch, we want you to experience the exclusive
use of our ranch as if it was your own. Some of our guests have told
us their favorite activity on the ranch is just doing nothing but
relaxing and enjoying the beauty and hospitality.
However, if you enjoy horseback riding along the same trails that
Native Americans used hundreds of years ago, that can also be arranged.
Do not be surprised if you look down on the trail to find an ancient
Indian arrowhead. There are over twenty separate Indian mounds on
the ranch and we are still counting.
If you enjoy an early morning walk, there is an extensive road and
trail system on the ranch that covers everything from a nice easy
walk to the most challenging hike. Walk to the top of the famous Texas
landmark, Chalk Bluff and experience the shear 500 foot drop off “Lover’s
Leap” into the river below. Here you will see for miles to the
head waters of the Nueces River as it winds deep into the beautiful
Texas Hill Country. This panoramic view is a favorite of guests in
the evenings as a place to sit back, relax and enjoy some of the most
beautiful sunsets anywhere. It is also a great place to bring your
sweetie.
If you enjoy just floating down one of the most beautiful crystal
clear spring fed rivers anywhere, we have about 4 miles of the Nueces
River on the ranch as well. The fishing is good for native bass, bluegills
and catfish. In the summer of 2005 we will be building our own Trophy
Bass Fishery on the ranch, and will be offering fishing packages in
2006.
We have a three-position trap range that is quickly growing into a
challenging sporting clay course, if you would like to brush up on
your shot gunning skills. If you are a bow hunter, we have a 3-D course
that will test your skills at distance judgment as well as shot placement.
Our rifle and pistol range has both long and short range targets available
to sight in your rifle or just to hone your shooting skills.
Wildlife tours are also available for the non-hunters in the group.
The Morani River Ranch is home to over 22 different species of animals
from several different continents. There are many species of native
birds, including road runners, mourning and white wing dove, turkey
and quail. We have over 600 big game animals on the ranch, so there
is never a dull moment. Some of our more popular species include our
Zebra herd which usually has several colts of different ages, our
American Bison, Texas Longhorns, Axis deer, Black Buck, Scimitar,
five different species of sheep, Sable Antelope and Kudu.
But, we have found that, a lot of people enjoy the solitude of the
ranch the most. The quiet, relaxed atmosphere, the panoramic beauty
and its wildlife, along with the full service staff that is at your
beck and call contribute to our goal of making your stay at the Morani
River Ranch an experience you will always cherish. Our commitment
to our clients is to do everything in our power to make your stay
as wonderful as possible. |
