Kevin L. Reid, Chanel Savage-Reid and Kevin’s sons, Kyle and Cole Reid, are your hosts at Morani River Ranch. Kevin, a hunter and conservationist for most of his life, is dedicated to the preservation of wildlife and its habitat. He has hunted extensively across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Africa, working with many individuals and organizations to learn and teach the many benefits of wildlife preservation.

With his devotion to hunting and love for wildlife, Kevin has maintained a membership with many organizations such as the Safari Club International, Rotary Club International, North American Hunter’s Club, National Rifle Association, Registered Texas Whitetail Breeder, The Foundation for North American Wild Sheep, The Exotic Wildlife Association, Texas Deer Breeders Association, Texas Deer Breeders Co-Op, Texas Wildlife Assocation and The Grand Slam Club.

Butch Amlong - Ranch Manager

Butch Amlong - Ranch Manager

Butch, his wife, Kim and son, Remington call the Morani River Ranch home. 

Since his childhood, Butch has been an avid hunter and fisherman. He turned his passion into a career at a very early age. He began guiding straight out of high school and, apart from his military service, he has had his hand in the industry every since.  His numerous experiences and adventures range from running sporting goods and archery stores to owning an outfitting business in New Mexico. Butch also chases his passion around the world having guided and hunted on three different continents and in several countries. For over 30 years in the hunting industry, Butch has collected many awards and accolades including several Pope and Young and Safari Club International record book entries and two national archery championships.

Butch is certified in chemical immobilization and highly trained in animal health and husbandry. As an avid combat handgun and tactical rifle shooter, Butch instructs these disciplines of shooting as well as long range rifle marksmanship.  

The Amlongs have three grown children and two grandchildren.  His daughter resides in Uvalde, Texas, and his two sons are in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His oldest son is a combat veteran who served two tours in Iraq. Butch himself is a veteran as was his father who retired from the U.S. Army as a Colonel.
