Morani River Ranch Activities

There are many other activities for our guests to participate in besides the great hunting opportunities. Our goal at Morani River Ranch is for our guests to have the freedom to set their own schedule and participate in their own activities. We attempt to book only one group at a time. While you are a guest on the ranch, we want you to experience the exclusive use of our ranch as if it were your own.

We offer trap shooting to hone your skills, as well as a 3-D course to improve your bow-hunting skills. Our rifle and pistol, long and short-range targets, are available to sight your weapons.

You can horseback ride along the same trails that Native Americans used hundreds of years ago. Do not be surprised if you look down on the trail to find an ancient arrowhead. There are 20 separate Indian mounds on the ranch, and we are still counting.

If walking is more your style, there is an extensive road and trail system on the ranch that covers all types of walking levels. You can hike to the top of Chalk Bluff. This famous Texas landmark affords a shear 500 feet drop-off, called “Lover’s Leap,” into the river below. From this vantage point, you will see for miles down to the headwaters of the Nueces River as it winds deep into the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

Furthermore, we provide wildlife tours to view the over 24 different species of animals from several continents. We have over 1,500 big game animas, as well as our more popular Zebra herd, which usually has several colts of various ages. Also, there are many varieties of native birds for the avid bird watchers.

You can also enjoy a leisurely float down the Nueces. It is a crystal-clear, spring-fed river, and the ranch is positioned on four miles of it. If you prefer fishing on the river, it is good for native bass, bluegills and catfish. We also have built our own Trophy Bass Fishery and offer fishing packages starting at $495 per fisherman per day.

We have found that many people enjoy the solitude of the ranch the most, due to the quiet, relaxed atmosphere, panoramic beauty and the wildlife. You will be provided with a full-service staff that is at your beck and call to ensure your stay at Morani River Ranch is an experience you will always cherish.
